New for 2026/27 Season
To provide the best possible support for all optional tournaments and Premier tournaments for our families, reduce costs for those families that are traveling to tournaments out of the Midwest and their athlete is traveling and staying with them as well as ensuring no athlete misses out on key competitive opportunities, all optional tournaments and Premier tournaments outside of the Midwest are moving from being chaperoned to now offering two flexible travel options:
- Travel with Parents / Guardians: Your athlete travels, stays at the tournament team hotel, and manages off-field time with your family, meeting the team at the field for warmups, games, and team events.
- Chaperoned by Lakers Staff: Your athlete travels, stays, and is fully supervised by Lakers coaches and designated chaperones. This ensures that work conflicts or family commitments at home never stand in the way of her playing time and growth. Families that select this option will split the cost of the chaperone’s hotel room and rental car, as well as the player's hotel room. A minimum of 3 players being chaperoned by Lakers Staff is required. Families opting into the chaperoned option will be invoiced one week prior to the event for the final cost. Chaperoned events are the following optional tournaments:
- IWLCA Presidents Cup
- Sand Storm Lacrosse Festival
- APEX Grind/ADRLN Western Shootout
Whether you choose Travel with Parents/Guardians or Chaperoned by Lakers Staff, your athlete receives the exact same high-level coaching, field time, and team experience.
Training
Practices are designed for high reps, high-quality touches, and high energy, combining lacrosse and athletic development in every session.
Speed & Conditioning
In addition to lacrosse skills, team concepts, and lacrosse IQ, players receive structured speed and conditioning training. All speed and conditioning is designed by our Strength & Conditioning Director, Antawan Walker, owner of UnTamed Sports, to match the demands of lacrosse and develop complete, durable athletes.
- Integrated into fall practices on Sundays and summer practices (Twin Cities) on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Remote programming available for athletes outside the metro.
Lacrosse Skills
Lacrosse training focuses on developing the skills, decision-making, and lacrosse IQ players need to perform at a higher level. Practices combine high-quality repetitions, position-specific development, small-sided play, and game-like situations to improve and strengthen fundamental concepts, confidence, and execution under pressure.
